To switch a function you simply press the Pad Mode buttons.
Pad mode controls the Hot Cue, FX Fade, Pad Scratch, Sample and TRANS functions. 8 Performance Padsįive modes are available for the DDJ-SB3 pads. And the X1/2 button selects the auto loop beat and and reduces the loop playback length to half. The loop playback length doubles each time the button is pressed during the loop playback. There is also a loop X2 button which selects the auto loop beat. The indepedent auto loop button allows you to turn On/Off the auto loop feature or can cancel a loop during playback. Having these dedicated buttons makes your performance easier and more intuitive and is seen on the more professional range of Pioneer DDJ controllers. The DDJ-SB3 now features dedicated buttons for the most used features. There are a total of eight FX patterns to choose from (high pass filter, low pass filter, loop playback and back spin) and the DDJ-SB3 features two of each. This feature allows you to reduce the volume and apply FX to a track at the same time and enables you to smoothly transition to your incoming track, even if you’re playing with different genres of music. This scratch feature opens up unlimited creative possibilities and you can use the scratch feature in isolation or combine it with your own scratching on the other deck.Īnother new feature on the DDJ-SB3 is the "FX Fade". Any track that you’re playing or have cued up will be scratched, and the scratch speed automatically matches the track’s BPM allowing you to create professional scratch performances in time even if you have no scratching experience. By pressing the relevant Performance Pads you can use the Pad Scratch feature to imitate up to eight different scratch sounds recorded the legendary hip hop DJ. The DDJ-SB3 includes the worlds first pad scratch for performing scratches which enables you to reproduce scratches based on DJ Jazzy Jeff's own recordings.
